House

The house at La Grande Connais was built in two phases. The original part, now referred to as The Stable, was built sometime before the French Revolution (1789) and the main house around 1850. Today the stable has been converted into a separate two bedroom unit, and is connected to the main house by adjoining doors upstairs and down. The Farmhouse and Stables have all the conveniences required for modern life but maintain a great amount of original character, including a large fireplace in the Farmhouse lounge and feature oak beams or stonework in most rooms.
